FASTRON was founded in 1978 in Munich and is a well-known brand name for inductors. FASTRON operates globally and has locations for development, production and sales in Germany, Hungary, Malaysia and the USA.
FASTRON’s product portfolio includes chip and power inductors, both wired and SMD chokes, magnetically shielded and unshielded chokes. In addition, FASTRON manufactures a large number of customer-specific inductors.
FASTRON products can be found in almost all applications, be it in filter applications for RF modules, as suppressor chokes for motor applications, as ballast in classic pole lights or in driver configurations for LED lights, in power management and also in the automotive sector with corresponding AEC-Q200 qualification.
FASTRON inductors comply with the RoHS directive and are produced according to European quality standards. All locations are certified according to ISO9001, ISO14001 and IATF16949.
PIHV4119 – unshielded SMD inductance for operating voltages up to 400V
The PIHV4119 from FASTRON is an unshielded and powerful SMD power inductor for operating voltages of up to 400VDC. The choke was designed with the compact dimensions of 10mm x 10mm x 5mm for applications in direct mains operation as a filter as well as an energy storage inductor.
The PIHV4119 has molded solder terminals. The lead-free tinned terminals guarantee best soldering results during reflow soldering. The non-conductive ferrite core and special enamelled copper wires guarantee a continuous voltage strength of 400VDC and resistance to higher voltage peaks. An insulating tube pulled over the drum core serves as additional protection for adjacent components.
Due to the low profile height of max. 5.2mm, there is a wide range of applications for compact inductance, e.g. in applications in lighting technology, the automotive industry, medical technology, industrial, communication and monitoring technology.
The PIHV4119 is available in 13 inductance values from 15µH to 2200µH with a current carrying capacity of up to 3A and a DC resistance of up to 0.085Ω The PIHV4119 is designed for a temperature range from -40°C to +125°C, is AEC-Q200 qualified, RoHS compliant and lead-free solderable.
XHBHV – A leaded axial inductance for voltages up to 400V
In the field of leaded coils, FASTRON has expanded its product portfolio with an axial ‘high voltage’ inductor. Thanks to the use of special enamelled wires and a new type of insulation, the XHBHV choke can be used at operating voltages of up to 400V and can also withstand significantly higher voltage peaks.
Due to its ferrite core, the XHBHV series achieves inductance values from 100µH up to 6800µH at ± 5% tolerance. The DC resistance is between 0.22Ω and 14.16Ω, and the current carrying capacity (IR) between 0.22A and 1.76A.
The XHBHV series was developed for applications that are operated directly on the public grid. Inductance is suitable for a wide range of applications such as transient suppression and EMC filtering in electric motors, switching power supplies in household appliances and in industrial, lighting and automotive applications.
The XHBHV is designed for working temperatures (incl. self-heating) of -40°C to +125°C. The inductance has a core length of 16mm, a diameter of 7.5mm and is supplied exclusively in a belt on a reel or in an ammopack.
Like all FASTRON components, the XHBHV series is RoHS compliant and designed for lead-free soldering.
