The Eve App version 3.8 is now available in the App Store – with many new and helpful functions. Especially owners of an Eve Aqua will be happy about new control options for garden irrigation. In addition, all users can use the “Dark Mode” familiar from iOS 13 in the app. You can easily activate the dark theme by making the following adjustments in the app: Eve > Settings > Theme > switch from “Light” to “Dark” at this point. Now your app should shine in the new color scheme.
Note: To use the dark theme, an Apple device with at least iOS 12 is required.
New and enhanced features for optimal irrigation
The new Eve App version 3.8 includes a firmware update for Eve Aqua. You can install it via Eve > Settings > Devices > [ROOM] > [Eve Aqua] > “Update Firmware” within a few seconds. The device will restart once after a successful update, then the Eve App is up to date and you can use the new features:

Several irrigations daily
The gearwheel symbol takes you to the detailed view for Eve Aqua. Now you can add up to seven irrigations. In combination with a suitable water distributor, such as the Gardena Automatic, which can supply water to up to six areas in succession, you can create optimum conditions for watering.
Control irrigation cycles by sunrise and sunset
The schedules you have created can now be started depending on the position of the sun in addition to certain times. In order to be able to water with as little evaporation as possible, regardless of the date, a schedule can be created which enables Eve Aqua to be activated about one hour before sunrise.
Pausing schedules
Perhaps you have already discovered it – in the Schedule view there is another new feature with the new update. With “Pause Schedule” you now have the possibility to pause casting at short notice.
Pause in case of bad weather
To save water, you can stop irrigation by Siri short command in bad weather.
To set up the new bad weather pause feature

A short tap on the “Install Siri shortcut” option checks whether you have already installed the app shortcuts on your smartphone.
If this is not the case, a corresponding download window will open. You need this additional app to use the “Siri shortcut” function for your Eve Aqua.
After a successful installation, the Eve App asks for access to the app and then opens it. At this point, the app will kindly ask you to call up the “Suspend Eve Aqua” shortcut.
So that the app can calculate the local rain probability and ask for the location release of the Eve Aqua.
Afterwards the short command appears on your display together with its elements. In the second point you can now specify the predicted rain probability at which Eve should stop watering. Please note that 50% are preset here.
In the fourth point you can then set the time at which the watering should be paused in bad weather. Now the corresponding shortcut command must still be configured. You will find the necessary settings in the upper right window.
Using the “Add to Siri” function, you can now say an individual sentence that starts the shortcut command, for example “Will it rain?
