Full speed ahead – fast chargers with Quick Charge 4.0+ make it possible

Who hasn’t experienced it? Just when you need it urgently, your smartphone or laptop runs out of juice. Thanks to Quick Charge 4.0+, USB chargers now literally become fast chargers – mobile devices can be charged much faster than before. Unlike Quick Charge 3.0, Quick Charge 4.0+ gives you the option to now also supply laptops with the fast chargers.

Power Delivery (PD) and USB-C in one charger

With Quick Charge, the Californian company Qualcomm created a standard in 2013 that allows consumers to charge their devices much faster than before: per USB-C port, such a fast charger delivers a maximum power of up to 100 W, whereas Quick Charge 3.0 “only” managed to deliver 36 W. The only thing to keep in mind is that devices can be charged with a single charger. The only thing to note is that devices that you want to charge via Quick Charge need a processor that has been licensed by Qualcomm for this fast-charging standard. In addition, both the devices and the cables must support USB Power Delivery.

In the fourth generation, the standard is also able to charge mobile devices via USB-PD and USB-C for the first time. This means that Qualcomm is also covering laptops whose processors support Quick Charge for the first time. The fast chargers can also use heat sensors to prevent overheating in the end device and thus prevent fires in the batteries.

Charge up to three devices with Quick Charge – the PCA-W001W quick charger

Equipped with two USB-C ports as well as one USB-A port, the PCA-W001W from Good Connections gives you the option of charging three devices in parallel via Quick Charge. The compact but powerful USB fast charger is suitable for smartphones and tablets as well as notebooks, MacBooks and monitors. Quick Charge devices ensure that the charging power is adapted to the respective device characteristics.

Thanks to Quick Charge 4.0+, bulky and heavy mains adapters are no longer necessary. The Quick Charge devices offer a high charging power of up to 100 W per device – the charging standard from Qualcomm and USB-PD make it possible. Plus, devices like the PCA-W001W allow you to charge multiple devices at once. A selection of chargers that support Quick Charge is now available in the reichelt online shop.
