Ces produits chimiques sont utilis\u00e9s depuis des ann\u00e9es dans des millions d\u2019\u00e9quipements de climatisation et de r\u00e9frig\u00e9ration dans le secteur industriel et priv\u00e9. Afin de progressivement r\u00e9duire les \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre, l\u2019Union europ\u00e9enne a durci les normes en la mati\u00e8re avec la directive No. 517\/2014 qui est entr\u00e9e en vigueur le 1er janvier 2015.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Les gaz \u00e0 effet de serre en recrudescence<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Les gaz \u00e0 effet de serre fluor\u00e9s sont des hydrocarbures qui, lib\u00e9r\u00e9s dans la stratosph\u00e8re, d\u00e9truisent la couche d\u2019ozone. Ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne se produit, par exemple, lors du d\u00e9versement incontr\u00f4l\u00e9 ou l\u2019\u00e9limination non-conforme de d\u00e9chets. Les cons\u00e9quences en sont une exposition aux rayons UV plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e et agressive pour la faune et la flore ainsi qu\u2019une hausse des temp\u00e9ratures. C\u2019est la raison pour laquelle l\u2019utilisation de ces substances a \u00e9t\u00e9 interdite dans de nombreux domaines.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Les effets de la directive et la recherche d\u2019alternatives<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>L\u2019objectif de la directive est de lutter contre le r\u00e9chauffement climatique en r\u00e9duisant les \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet serre fluor\u00e9s et en passant \u00e0 l\u2019utilisation de fluides frigorig\u00e8nes de substitution. L\u2019index choisi est le potentiel de r\u00e9chauffement global (PRG), qui indique le pouvoir r\u00e9chauffant d\u2019une mol\u00e9cule de gaz par rapport \u00e0 celui d\u2019une mol\u00e9cule de dioxyde de carbone. D\u2019ici 2030, seulement 21&nbsp;% de la quantit\u00e9 totale utilis\u00e9e en 2015 devrait \u00eatre \u00e9mise. L\u2019objectif pour 2018 est de d\u00e9j\u00e0 r\u00e9duire les \u00e9missions de 30&nbsp;% par rapport \u00e0 l\u2019ann\u00e9e pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente. Par ailleurs, l\u2019utilisation du t\u00e9trafluoro\u00e9thane, un fluide frigorig\u00e8ne que l\u2019on retrouve dans les r\u00e9frig\u00e9rateurs, par exemple, et pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 comme une alternative aux chlorofluorocarbones (CFC), qui sont encore plus nocifs, sera d\u00e9sormais limit\u00e9e. Depuis cette ann\u00e9e, les constructeurs automobiles ne sont plus autoris\u00e9s \u00e0 utiliser ce fluide frigorig\u00e8ne dans les nouvelles voitures.<\/p>\n<p>Les alternatives possibles sont l\u2019hydrofluorol\u00e9fine (HFO), l\u2019ammoniaque (R717) ou encore le dioxyde de carbone (R744) mais leur pouvoir r\u00e9frig\u00e9rant ainsi que leur inflammabilit\u00e9 est moins \u00e9lev\u00e9. Elles sont par ailleurs plus dangereuses et plus ch\u00e8res (jusqu\u2019\u00e0 20&nbsp;%) par rapport aux gaz fluor\u00e9s classiques.<\/p>\n<p>Il n\u2019existe pas encore de v\u00e9ritable alternative.
