KUNBUS GmbH, a leading provider of industrial automation and IIoT solutions, presents the RevPi Flat S. The innovative hardware platform is based on the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4S. As the successor to the successful RevPi Flat<\/a>, the RevPi Flat S<\/a> offers improved performance and extended connectivity options specifically for the energy sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advanced connectivity and robust security<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<\/span>The newly developed DIN rail module features a compact and flat design and is ideal for use in sub-distribution cabinets. With four RJ45 10\/100 Ethernet ports, the RevPi Flat S offers flexible network solutions. LAN0 is designed for one Ethernet connection, while LAN1 provides three Ethernet connections. The latter can either be switched via the Distributed Switch Architecture or operated individually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the most notable improvements is the new micro-USB port, which simplifies flashing the device. In addition, the RevPi Flat S offers two RS485 and two USB 2.0 interfaces, an analogue input as well as digital and analogue outputs. An integrated Trusted Platform Module (TPM) provides comprehensive security features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Powerful technology meets flexible programming<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Under the bonnet is a quad-core Broadcom BCM2711 Arm Cortex-A72 processor clocked at 1.5GHz. This is complemented by 1GB of RAM and 32GB of internal flash memory. This allows for significantly increased performance and capacity. The device is also equipped with an SMA socket for WLAN, which opens up further networking options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new RevPi Flat S has an external USB OTG interface. This makes it easy to install an operating system image. A custom version of the Raspberry Pi OS with real-time patching is installed out of the box. It provides full root access and maximum programming flexibility. This openness provides developers with endless possibilities. They can implement projects ranging from modern decentralised energy management to optimising charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
