It is designed to meet the technical requirements of an increasingly networked world and the challenges it presents. In particular, the growing dimensions of the Internet of Things (IoT) and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) require resilient and stable connections that can integrate as many devices as possible at the same time. The innovative LoRaWAN transmission standard, which can be used to network up to several thousand sensors, has precisely these capabilities.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Technical innovation for the requirements of IoT<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<span data-view=\"article\" data-artid=\"266467\" data-lang=\"de\"><\/span>LoRaWAN is specifically designed for wireless battery powered networks. The connection standard enables bidirectional communication with end-to-end encryption. In addition, devices that work with different systems can be connected without the need to unify them first. This allows free networking of devices without major time or technical hurdles. The Internet of Things can thus be rolled out much faster and more widely than before.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Practical advantages due to a wide reach<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<span data-view=\"article\" data-artid=\"271521\" data-lang=\"de\"><\/span>One of the special features of LoRaWAN is the high range of the networks, which is significantly wider than conventional WLAN networks and reaches even remote places and regions. The network structure is arranged in a star topology so that in every situation the most suitable gateway is used to transmit the signal from the sensor to the server. Due to these favourable characteristics LoRaWAN is already increasingly spreading in industry.<\/p>\n\n<p>A practical example is a car park sensor that registers and reports the occupancy of a car park. It can also perform functions such as search, reservation and navigation to the next parking space. Room sensors can detect the occupancy of a desk, for example, and forward this information to the next person, providing information on humidity, lighting conditions and temperature.
