Cloudbased socket switches for 20\u20ac are now available in stores, but the 11826 adapter from DELOCK stands out clearly from this oversupply. While conventional switching adapters cannot do without a cloud, the Delock switching adapter completely eliminates this cloud constraint. This is made possible by the TASMOTA firmware that has already been installed. A further advantage over conventional WLAN sockets is therefore the local storage of user data in the device itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is TASMOTA?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

The open source firmware TASMOTA was developed to enable the use of a smart home without a cloud. Tasmota also enables the user to easily integrate devices into existing Smart Home systems. Even if the devices were not originally intended for use in a particular system.<\/p>\n\n

Thanks to cloud-independent use, the devices can also be controlled without Internet access. This independent control makes your home network very flexible. It can be controlled via a web browser, but just as well via systems such as Hue, WeMo, ioBroker, openHab, Fhem, Domoticz or NodeRed and supports common protocols such as http, MQTT or WEB.<\/p>\n\n

In order to install the open source firmware on a device, you have to open it and remove the board it contains. Contacts may have to be soldered before adapters can be plugged in. Only then can the software be installed.<\/p>\n\n

Thanks to Delock’s WLAN socket, this tedious installation process is no longer necessary because the firmware is already installed and ready for use. This makes the switch adapter unique in comparison to current models.<\/p>\n\n

Easy installation and integration into existing systems<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<\/span>Plugged into an electrical outlet, the adapter opens a WLAN access point in the 2.4 GHz network and can then be configured for the home network via the local web interface in any Internet browser. In addition, there is a switch on the housing that executes configurable key commands directly if the smartphone, tablet or a computer is not at hand.<\/p>\n\n

The built-in relay switches up to 2.3 KVA (10 amps at 230 volts) and should be perfectly sufficient for most domestic appliances such as coffee machines or lamps.<\/p>\n\n

In addition to integration into a Smart Home System, programmable time switches make it easier to switch the connected devices on and off, such as switching on the coffee machine in the morning or simulating a presence via the standard lamp at the window for burglary prevention.<\/p>\n\n

The small design of the adapter is also worth mentioning, as it allows several switches to be connected side by side, as the adapter is only slightly larger than the socket itself.<\/p>\n\n

Additional function of the new socket switch from Delock<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<\/span>The new socket switch 11827 can also be controlled via a button or WiFi. Additionally it offers a function for power measurement: the current energy consumption at the socket can be determined at a glance. This enables to assess energy efficiency and costs and unusual operating conditions can be identified.<\/p>\n\n

Conclusion<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

The DELOCK WLAN switch adapter is particularly suitable for the type of user who wants to save the costly installation of TASMOTA on cans with cloud firmware due to its low price, there is hardly any difference in price and there is no uncertainty when opening a current-carrying device.<\/p>\n\n
