For example, components have become increasingly scarce in recent years &#8211; and their price has risen as a result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Knowledge of these difficulties on the part of customers is the key to success for electronics distributors. This is why reichelt elektronik recently surveyed 500 employees from the fields of software design, technology, development, programming, IT and purchasing in a representative survey: Is it easier or harder for those responsible to carry out electronic projects nowadays? And where do difficulties arise?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-facilitation-of-projects-through-greater-choice\">Facilitation of projects through greater choice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite major changes in the distribution landscape, such as internationalization and market segmentation, 44 percent of respondents believe that electronic projects are easier to implement today than they were five to ten years ago. 12 percent are of the opposite opinion, while 37 percent see no difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the respondents, the relief is mainly due to the following factors:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; There is a larger selection of components (71%)<br>&#8211; Components are becoming ever more powerful &#8211; the technical possibilities are increasing (61%)<br>&#8211; Online communities and guides provide helpful resources (50%)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reichelt.com\/magazin\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Infografik_Elektronik-Distributoren_en-1024x724.png\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"724\" src=\"https:\/\/www.reichelt.com\/magazin\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Infografik_Elektronik-Distributoren_en-1024x724.png\" alt=\"Today, the requirements for electronics distributors are different than they were five years ago\" class=\"wp-image-92029\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.reichelt.com\/magazin\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Infografik_Elektronik-Distributoren_en-1024x724.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.reichelt.com\/magazin\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Infografik_Elektronik-Distributoren_en-300x212.png 300w, https:\/\/www.reichelt.com\/magazin\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Infografik_Elektronik-Distributoren_en-768x543.png 768w, https:\/\/www.reichelt.com\/magazin\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Infografik_Elektronik-Distributoren_en-1536x1086.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.reichelt.com\/magazin\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Infografik_Elektronik-Distributoren_en.png 2000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-lack-of-quality-and-shorter-development-cycles-as-difficulties\">Lack of quality and shorter development cycles as difficulties<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In the planning and execution of electronic projects, companies face hurdles time and again despite this overall positive change &#8211; for example, if required components are too expensive or not available at all. Around one third of those surveyed have even had to cancel a project completely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the following difficulties arise:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Development cycles are getting shorter and shorter (47%)<br>&#8211; Many components are not of high quality (42%)<br>&#8211; The distributor replaces the manufacturer, which changes product characteristics (33%)<br>&#8211; Ordered goods do not arrive or arrive too late, leading to production stoppage (31%)<br>&#8211; Incorrect or insufficient technical information from manufacturers (30%)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the majority of women are not satisfied with the quality of today&#8217;s components (69%), men see the constantly shortening development cycles as the greatest challenge (46%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Image: Adobe Stock, infographic: reichelt elektronik<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Regardless of the purpose for which electronic components are ordered, those responsible often face a number of challenges in the procurement of components.
