he processor, the heat transfer paste must be spread on.
If you want to buy heatsink paste separately: a good choice for overclockers is the Hydronaut thermal grease TG-WLPH-015.
Assembly and installation
Depending on the processor, the distance bolts (or “stand-off screws”) supplied must be installed between the rear plate and pump. They function as spacers.
The pump is then fixed with the four wing nuts. Tip: tighten the wing nuts in a crosswise direction and with a lot of care. Do not use a cordless screwdriver, as this will overtighten the nuts and cause tension on the board!
The special feature of the Arctic Liquid Freezer 240 is that it does not have one or two fans, like conventional radiators, but two on the front and back.
Therefore, four fans in total offer a higher cooling performance, rather than single or double radiators.
Depending on which direction you prefer your air flow to go, the radiator can be fitted as either an air duct or air escape. We recommend however to install it as an air duct, so that cooling is more efficient.
In order to do this, you have to install it so that the fans are on the right, while the air escape is on the left. It is important that the cables of the individual fans go in the same direction, i.e. inwards. This allows them to be connected later without causing wires to get tangled.
Additionally, you should ensure that the fans are fitted so that they move in one direction and that the radiators will work together in the opposite direction, therefore balancing the cooling capacity.
Depending on the location, the radiator can be fitted on the top or the side of the housing. However, installing it on the side looks better aesthetically, as the cables and tubes can be fitted better this way.
On the inside of the housing, the fans are also attached to the radiator by screws. On the outside, the fans are screwed to the housing with the holes provided.
Thanks to the Y-connectors on the cables, the individual fans can then be connected to one another and then easily connected to a single mainboard, also known as the motherboard.
Compact water cooling for everyone
A compact cold water cooling system is considered the perfect choice for those who want to cool their PC during overclocking. A water cooling system like the Arctic Liquid Freezer 240, with its four fans, ensures a high cooling performance even when the PC performs at maximum speed and therefore is reliable at preventing overheating.
It still works quietly enough to avoid making unnecessary noise.
Conclusion: This water cooling system is therefore suitable for both beginner-level makers, who don’t have that much experience installing these kinds of systems, as well as hardcore PC enthusiasts who need a high cooling capacity.
