Upgrade your vintage speakers with Beocreate

Bang & Olufsen, best known for its high quality speakers, has partnered with HiFiBerry to create a unique Raspberry Pi Shield called Beocreate, that transforms traditional speakers into wireless, modern sound systems. Audio hobbyists can now bring vintage speakers from the 70s and 80s into the 21st Century.

A small board that does a great job

The high quality sound is created by the Beocreate 4-Channel Amplifier-Shield, a very flexible DSP / DAC / amplifier combination board. This was especially developed for use with passive speakers.

The shield works as a stand-alone device or as a digital audio player when paired with the Raspberry Pi. The great thing is you can use any software of your choice with the Raspberry Pi.

The new Beocreate board features a 24-bit / 192kHz digital-to-analogue converter (DAC) and a four-channel amplifier that delivers up to 60 watts of sound, which is suitable for most rooms.

No soldering required!

The board includes a TOS-Link input and output as well as a powerful digital signal processor that can be programmed directly from any PC with SigmaStudio. You can also conntect via wireless DSP programming (Ethernet, WiFi) too.

The construction is simple and there is no soldering required when connecting your devices. The Raspberry Pi can simply be plugged into the Beocreate board. Power is supplied via an external 12 – 24 V source.

All Bang & Olufsen speakers, as well as speakers from other brands, can be connected via screw terminals.
