BMX is a collaboration between veterans of the renowned accessory brand Hyper, who have joined forces to redefine the limits of mobile energy storage. Their goal is to significantly reduce the risks associated with liquid-based batteries while increasing efficiency.
The technology: solid instead of liquid
SolidSafe™ technology is at the heart of the new product range. Unlike conventional lithium-ion batteries, which are based on liquid electrolytes that can leak or catch fire if damaged, BMX relies on semi-solid cell chemistry.
The liquid content has been drastically reduced to around 2.5%, replaced by a gel-like electrolyte. This technological change ensures greater stability and effectively prevents the dreaded ‘thermal runaway’ of the battery cells.
Maximum safety and cycle stability
The manufacturer’s stress tests demonstrate the resilience of the new technology. Even extreme physical impacts, such as piercing the cells with nails or cutting them, did not result in smoke or fire.In addition to improving safety, the new cell chemistry also increases longevity. BMX promises twice the service life of standard batteries, with up to 1,000 charging cycles possible before the residual capacity drops to 80%. This means that the investment pays off for frequent users in the long term.
Smart design for everyday use
Technology is only as good as its usability. That’s why BMX combines innovative chemistry with well-considered features for everyday use:
- Informative display: A full-colour LCD provides real-time data on battery status and current input and output power, which is ideal for users who want to closely monitor their charging processes.
- Integrated cable: A carrying strap that doubles as a USB-C cable eliminates the need to carry separate charging cables.
- Travel-friendly: All models comply with airline safety guidelines and can be carried in hand luggage.

Solid-state power banks set new safety standards
With the SolidSafe™ series, BMX is targeting technology enthusiasts and frequent travellers, for whom safety is a top priority. Solid-state technology represents a significant departure from sensitive liquid batteries, offering more robust and durable energy storage solutions.
