Smart Home via Bluetooth – Frogs as real communication talents

Turning one’s own four walls into a smart home – that is what more and more owners and tenants want. But many shy away from high costs, complicated handling and data storage in the cloud. With smart boards called Frogs, frogblue provides the solution: the Bluetooth LE-based system does without the cloud, is impressively simple to install and easy to operate – and everything is also 100 percent “Made in Germany”.

Intelligent home simply implemented

The VDE-certified Frogs have all the relevant functions for a smart home: They offer switching or dimming functions and control blinds and shutters. The intelligent boards communicate with each other via Bluetooth and pass on the switching commands by connecting virtual cables wirelessly to other Frogs. This means that apart from the 230 V power supply, no other cables or IT infrastructures are necessary.

The intelligent control modules look like small green boxes and can be easily installed behind any switch in the flush-mounted box. This way, the Frogs are hidden and no longer visible. The small boards are compatible with any conventional light switch or push-button. The individual Frogs can be easily controlled via a mobile device such as a smartphone.

Decentralised Bluetooth network with maximum data security

Communication and control via mobile phone or tablet also takes place directly via Bluetooth without additional devices. The data is secured in the best possible way: In addition to the Bluetooth encryption, the frogblue data is also encoded a second time. A central control system is not required with this system. This not only saves costs, it also protects against complete failure. In just a few steps, the frogs can be connected to form groups, allowing a central “off-on” function to be configured in no time at all, depending on requirements. The system can be reinstalled or retrofitted at any time and is infinitely scalable. Thus, frogblue offers consumers an easy way to smart home solutions.
