Storage masters for the network: Qnap TS-451A

Whether at home or at work: Music, films, back-ups and other memory eaters ensure that internal hard drives are quickly filled to the brim. The logical consequence: You need more disk space. Instead of now equipping every PC with new, larger hard drives, the purchase of a network attached storage solution (NAS for short) is almost always the better alternative. NAS offer the immediate provision of storage space in the home network. The advantage: All connected PCs in the network have more storage capacity in one hit.

Storage solution and multi-media centre in one

The new NAS system Qnap TS-45 1A is based on multi-media: Docked to the TV or monitor via HDMI, it turns into a 4K-compatible media centre.

The system can be controlled conveniently via remote control, which comes as standard.

By installing additional apps such as Kodi and Plex, videos and music can be played back conveniently. In addition, the TS-451A boasts a fast dual-core Intel processor and up to 8 GB of memory.

Four hard drive bays — memory full

In addition, the new NAS system from QNAP provides space for four hard disks. The maximum capacity depends on the four hard disks used, currently disks with a maximum of 10 terabytes are available.

Of interest are the various backup methods, for example, by means of data mirroring RAID 1. When using this technique, the contents of a hard disk are automatically transferred to another.

Advantage: If one of the disks fails, all of the data is still fully available on a different disk. All in all, the “storage master” Qnap TS-451A is an especially good choice for demanding users. The application possibilities are large, the range of apps is remarkable.

Whether you want to back up your pictures and videos and play them back or run virtual machines — the NAS TS-451A system is prepared for almost all tasks.
