Weller and reichelt: hands-on technology

Reichelt Elektronik was present as a partner at the Weller Tools stand, where they experienced the special atmosphere first-hand. Visitors had the chance to try out a variety of technologies for themselves, including pyrography and soldering kits, as well as gaining practical insights into the modular WXsmart hand soldering platform. Many visitors took the opportunity to ask questions, learn new things, and speak to experts.

Special highlights at the stand were the Go2 Air robot dog and the Booster Robotics T1 humanoid robot, which accompanied Reichelt Elektronik to the fair. Both fascinated young and old alike and proved to be real visitor magnets. The curious glances, interactions and lively conversations surrounding the robots showed how technology can connect people.

Maker Faire thrives on personal exchange. The open atmosphere, which gave the event a particularly personal touch, was contributed to by numerous visitors, including many familiar faces as well as long-standing customers and their families.

As well as personal encounters, the focus was on the diversity of the maker world. 3D printing, robotics, Raspberry Pi projects, and upcycling were among the year’s major trends. The outdoor area featured numerous creative installations that impressed visitors. One of the most striking of these was the performance of ‘La Danseuse’, a six-metre-high mechanical ballerina. This was one of the most spectacular moments of the entire fair. It also perfectly embodied the motto ‘Where ideas dance and technology inspires’.

The Maker Faire once again demonstrated the vibrancy and rapid growth of the DIY and tech community. The date for the next Maker Faire has already been set: 15 and 16 August 2026, once again at the HCC.
