The challenges in the industry, apart from digitisation efforts towards Industry 4.0. are manifold. For example, it is necessary to react as quickly as possible to customer requirements and to make the value chain as effective as possible. In order to make industrial installations easier and more time-saving, the German company Schlegel has therefore developed the SHORTRON® connect series.
Simple connection via M12 connector
With the SHORTRON-connect series Schlegel meets the industry’s demand for M12-connected solutions. Thus, the series elements can be attached directly to the actuator by plugging in the four-pole M12 connectors and are immediately ready for use. The contact element is already integrated. In addition, there is no need for laborious soldering of the pins or connection via screw terminals. Therefore, no specialist personnel is required for assembly.
High safety – even in small spaces
The M12 connectors also offer safety advantages: It is not possible to twist or exchange the poles. In addition, the control indicator is also IP65/67 protected against dust and water at the rear of the connector. This means that no protective housing needs to be installed, which additionally saves costs, time and space.
Thanks to the low installation depth of 33.7mm (26.7mm for emergency stop), the switches take up little space and can also be installed in ever smaller machines. Thanks to the ergonomic mounting brackets, which are available in different versions, the actuators can also be placed and organized in any space-saving manner.
Resistant in any environment
The SHORTRON® connect connectors easily withstand industrial environmental conditions and have a long mechanical and electrical life. Various pushbuttons, selector and key switches, indicator lights and emergency stops with different contact type combinations are available. This allows the system to adapt flexibly to the requirements of the respective production. If these change, the system can be simply repositioned and the push button identification labels exchanged.
