Temperature testing of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and laboratory electronics requires the highest accuracy. For product tests and research and development, plus the verification of electronic boards and devices, FLIR’s first desktop thermal camera provides analysis in seconds, with impressive accuracy and reducing overall testing time.
Sensitive and reliable
The FLIR ETS320 quickly and reliably detects potential hot spots and sources of error in a temperature range between -20°C and 250°C. An important value for the classification of a camera is the temperature sensitivity. This is measured with the so-called NETD value (Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference). This classification represents the thermal image sensitivity, indicating the smallest temperature difference which can still be detected. The following applies: the smaller the amount of so-called “image noise”, the smaller the NETD value. The FLIR ETS320 has a NETD value of only 0.06°, where image noise is almost non-existent. In addition to the pixel number for the geometric resolution, which we will explain later, this is a very attractive feature. The thermal imaging camera also performs very well with the smallest components. Here, a spot can be only 170μm (micrometres) per pixel.Well-designed for laboratory work

The FLIR ETS320 rests securely on the mast support, so that both hands remain free for lab tests.
On the 3-inch LCD display, the captured images (recorded as standard radiometric JPEGs) are sharpened. Subsequently, the collected data can be easily transferred to the computer via USB and evaluated using the FLIR Tools + software.
Highly accurate
The FLIR ETS320 performs with a temperature measurement accuracy of only ±3°C. It can measure across 76,800 points at once, with a 320 x 240 IR detector. Thanks to this accuracy, this high-tech thermal imaging camera is particularly suitable for factory acceptance and quality assurance. Other technical tricks include the wide field of view (FOV) with an angle of 45°, the fixed focus distance of 70 mm ±10 mm and emissivity correction in the range of 0.1 to 1.0.
Dimensions and contents
The camera weights 575g, including the battery, allowing for flexible use. The dimensions of the device are compact at 22 x 15 x 30 cm, so it doesn’t have any special requirements for space and supply lines. Objects up to a height of 176 mm (considering the focus distance of 70 mm) can be detected easily. Contents include the camera, mount and stand, a power supply unit, a USB cable, and FLIR TOOLS + software for the evaluation of the recorded data.
