The industry's first smart switch with 10 Gigabit/s technology
The NETGEAR® ProSafe® GS752TXS with 52 ports is the ideal partner for the rapidly growing class of 10 Gigabit/s servers because the stackable smart switch is the first in its class that has 10 Gigabit/s connections as well as 1 Gigabit/s ports. As a result, the device provides maximum data throughput in small and medium-sized companies, so that even the most demanding applications, such as data replication or backup, virtualisation, video on demand and transaction processing with large amounts of data are possible with no constraints. This type of smart switch is only half the cost of a managed switch, but the ProSafe Gigabit smart switch still provides connections for 48 1 Gigabit/s devices and, in addition, four 10 Gigabit/s SFP+ ports for stacking or uplinks to servers. Up to 6 switches can be interconnected via stacking and then provide a maximum of 288 network connections with full redundancy for unmatched reliability. The GS752TXS offers the full functionality of the enterprise class, including advanced traffic management and security, but it can still be easily configured and monitored with its web-based user interface.

Enterprise class functions
Thanks to its full layer 2 feature set, the GS752TXS is effective, safe and also ready for the future. For example, static routing allows the segmenting of a network, where the switch itself handles the routing — the actual router simply deals with traffic that is not intended for the internal network. So the whole network becomes more effective. The dynamic assignment of VLANs increases security by enforcing a consistent policy and user privileges across the entire network, regardless of where the user connects to it. The support of MLD snooping makes the network more effectively, because doing so also forwards multicast traffic only to specified stations, instead of flooding all ports with multicast packets. The GS752TXS also offers full IPv6 support, comprehensive security, and expanded multicast management.

Scalability and reliability
The GS752TXS is a scalable solution that grows alongside a company. Starting with a single switch, the switch stack can grow to up to six switches with a total of 288 network connections. Two of the four 10 Gigabit/s ports for each switch can be used to connect the stack, which then represents a logical unit with up to 40 Gigabit/s as a stack backplane that can be configured and managed as if it were only a switch. This ensures that installation is faster and, at the same time, management and maintenance are easier. The switches in a stack can be distributed over different physical locations, using the benefits of SFP+ fibreglass connections. The GS752TXS is therefore an ideal solution for branches and offices. All four 10 Gigabit/s ports can be used as network uplinks to servers and other storage devices, or can be divided into two ports for local and/or remote stacking and two ports for uplinks and link aggregation. Automatic failure mechanisms provide for a secure network — if a switch in the stack fails, the remaining switches continue to work smoothly.

Flexible management options
Because the GS752TXS is actually a "smart" switch, IT administrators can decide how they want to manage it. Individual switches can be managed using a simple easy-to-use browser-based interface. Similarly, you can manage the switch with SNMP software, so that it is compatible with existing SNMP-based management programmes. In larger networks, NETGEAR's Smart Control Centre offers free Windows software, which can be used to discover, configure and update multiple smart switches in a network. In networks with other network devices from NETGEAR such as switches, WIFI access Points or NAS, the Netgear network management system (NMS-200) can help to manage all of these devices via a single central station, so you can have a particularly comprehensive overview, detailed control and seamless automation for the entire network.
