With speeds of up to 5 Gbit/s, the USB 3.0 is quickly becoming the new standard in data transmission technology for PCs and laptops. Some computers only have 10/100 Ethernet ports, while Macbook Airs and Ultrabooks often have no Ethernet ports at all. On account of the USB 2.0 standard, existing USB 2.0 Gigabit Ethernet adapters are limited to a maximum data transfer rate of 480 Mbit/s. However, our USB 3.0 adapter can reach speeds of up to 5 Mbit/s. Upgrade the 10/100 Ethernet connection to super-fast Gigabit speeds or add a real USB 3.0 Gigabit Ethernet connection to an Ultrabook or Macbook Air.
The EU-4306 supports USB 3.0, the latest USB standard specification, at a maximum data transfer rate of 5 Gbit/s. Up to ten times faster than the existing USB 2.0 standard, which is limited to a maximum speed of 480 Mbit/s. USB 3.0 allows the full capacity of 10/100/1000 Mbit/s Gigabit Ethernet to be achieved via an existing USB port, without having to install a Gigabit Ethernet card.
Ideal for Ultrabooks or Macbook Airs without an Ethernet port. Use the USB 3.0 Gigabit Ethernet adapter to easily establish the Gigabit Ethernet network connection using the plug and play function. Take the compact, portable EU-4306 wherever you take your laptop, and feel confident in the fact you are always connected using the fast, reliable Gigabit Ethernet whenever you need it. Create a Gigabit Ethernet connection for desktops, laptops, games consoles or home network devices.
Supports jumbo frames Jumbo frame support can significantly improve network performance and increase the effective bandwidth. Jumbo frames are Ethernet frames (packets) with up to 4000 bytes per frame compared to the significantly smaller standard level of 1500 bytes for Ethernet frames. Using larger frames means that fewer frames are sent through the network, which improves the cycle frequency of the central processing unit. In some applications, especially those that are typical for Gigabit Ethernet with transfers of such large files, the result is significantly increased network performance.
The EU-4306 contains an energy-saving function to reduce energy consumption by up to 35% (if there is no Ethernet activity), thereby lowering costs and contributing to a better environment.
