MRL (miniature ratiometric linear) sensors of the SS494 series have a ratiometric output voltage determined by the supply voltage. This varies in proportion to the strength of the magnetic field.
A new integrated Hall-effect circuit chip provides increased temperature stability and temperature sensitivity. Laser-matched thin-film resistors on the chip permit a high degree of accuracy and temperature compensation to reduce zero and gain shifts over temperature. A design with a quadruple Hall effect minimises the impact of mechanical and thermal stresses of the output and creates a stable output. The positive temperature coefficient for sensitivity balances out the negative temperature coefficient of lower-cost magnets for a robust design over broad temperature ranges.
