Patented tripping technology

The inner workings of KOPP circuit breakers essentially differ from previous circuit breaker technology thanks to the structure of the thermal and magnetic tripping device. The thermal tripping device comprises a bimetal snap-in panel, which is integrated in the magnetic tripping device. The bimetal snap-in panel has a precise tripping pattern, i.e., the tripping characteristic is in a small tolerance range. Another benefit is that a short circuit is not guided via the thermal tripping device, thereby increasing the service life of the device.

Simple installation

The KOPP circuit breakers are easy to install. Using the quick-action fastening, the circuit breaker can be mounted from the top on the rail mounting. Sliding the circuit breaker aligns it; it is locked using a handle. The device is secure, locked in place and straight right from the start. The circuit breaker can be installed on the rail mounting when the snap-in fastening is engaged.

Simple disassembly

Thanks to its patented design of the quick-action fastening, the circuit breaker MCB can be removed or replaced quickly at any time from the mounting unit, without having to loosen the complete wiring rail. Safety first! You can identify at first glance that the KOPP circuit breaker has been tripped by over-current or short circuit thanks to the integrated fault signal display. The switch lock disengages; the toggle jumps to the centre position. For your safety, do not switch on the circuit breaker MCB directly from the centre position. After rectifying the reason for shutting off, the toggle must be pressed down until it snaps into place (reset), then switch up to ON (I) and the MCB is ready to be used again.

Economic efficiency and benefiting the environment

Owing to the developed and patented tripping technology, device-specific loss in power of a circuit breaker has been reduced by up to 30%. The heat generation prevented in this way adds up to a considerable figure over the million times these kinds of circuit breaker are used — an energy saving that ultimately benefits the environment, too.
