NUCLEO L053R8 :: Nucleo developer board for the STM32 L0 series

Item-No.: NUCLEO L053R8
Category of goods: 0

The developer board for your Arduino™ Uno

The STM32 Nucleo board, NUCLEO-L053R8, works in conjunction with the microcontroller of the STM32 L0 series so that you can create your own prototypes for embedded applications. With its easy-to-use development platform, it provides a quick solution in the evaluation and development of any ARM® 32-bit Cortex® M0+ STM32 L0 flash microcontrollers with RISC core in an LQFP64 housing. The Nucleo development board connects to the Arduino™ and supports most shields. The Nucleo ST Morpho pin bases increase the functions of the Open Development Platform (ODP). The mbed-enabled ARM® board has an integrated ST-LINK/V2 circuit debugger/programming device (SWIM/SWD) to connect to the on-board STM32L053R8T6 or to an appropriate STM32 MCU in your application.
  • System requirements: Windows PC (XP, Vista, 7, 8)/USB Type A to mini-B USB cable

  • On-board STM32L053R8T6 microcontroller

  • Extension resources: Arduino™ Uno Revision 3 connectivity and ST Microelectronics Morpho extension pin base for comprehensive access to all STM32-I/Os that are mbed-enabled (

  • On board ST-LINK/V2-1 debugger/programming device with SWD plug connector

  • Mode selection switch for using the kit as a standalone ST-LINK/V2-1

  • Power supplies: USB VBUS or external source (3.3 V; 5 V; 7 - 12 V); measuring point for power management

  • Three LEDs: USB communication; user LED, power LED

  • User and reset buttons

  • Interfaces supported on USB: Virtual COM port; mass storage; debugging port

  • Comprehensive STM32 software HAL library

  • IDE-support (Integrated Development Environment) includes IAR, Keil, GCC-based IDEs

Series STM32L0
The 32-bit flash microcontrollers (MCU) in the STM32 family are based on the ARM Cortex™ M0 core, which was specifically developed for embedded applications. The processor STM32 ARM Cortex™ M from STMicroelectronics benefits from the other architectural enhancements of the Cortex M0 including digital signal processing, real-time performance, low voltage and low power consumption. The STM32F0 and STM32 LO from ST, based on the ARM® Cortex M0, provides a 32-bit performance thanks to its user-friendly functionality and is ideal for small-scale projects or platform decisions.
