PU 500/2 casting resin is a two-component, natural-coloured, unfilled polyurethane resin casting system. The system is very pourable and complies with type RLS-W according to the draft edition of VDE 0291 Part 2 of June 1997. After curing, the compound is softly elastic.

Applications
Insulating electrical components, particularly 1-kV connection and branch joints.

Processing
The two components belonging to a unit (base compound and curing agent) are precisely matched, therefore no need for weighing.
They can be packaged either in two separate tins or in 2-chamber mixing bags.
The matrix should be well mixed before the curing agent is added.
For processing the tins, all the curing agent is poured into the base compound and the two components are intermixed with uniform steering.
For the mixing bag version, the separating web is removed. The two components can thus come together and are intermixed by kneading the bag.

In both cases the mixing time is 3 minutes. A homogeneous mixture is indicated by a uniform colour of the compound. Take care to mix as little air as possible into the compound during the mixing process.
The processing time can vary depending on the ambient temperature, i.e. lower temperatures result in longer processing times, and higher temperatures require shorter processing times.
The processing speed depends on the ambient temperature and the quantity being cast. The final hardness is achieved after 2-3 days.

Storage
Store the originally sealed container in a dry, frost-free place. Opened units must be processed immediately.
Workability is guaranteed for 24 months, starting from filling (see batch label on containers).

Hazard notifications/Safety suggestions Please observe labels on containers and the relevant safety data sheets for basic compound, curing agent and cured compound.
